The Faculty of Psychology and Socio-Cultural Sciences at Universitas Islam Indonesia (FPSCS UII) is one of the fast-growing faculties in Universitas Islam Indonesia. This faculty consists of the Undergraduate Program of Psychology (established 1995/1996), the Undergraduate Program of Communication Sciences (established 2004/2005), the Graduate Program of Professional Psychology (established 2005/2006), the Undergraduate Program of English Language Education (established in 2012/2013), and the Undergraduate Program of International Relations (established 2014/2015).

FPSCS UII has a unique history. It began with the establishment of the Faculty of Psychology with one study program, namely the Undergraduate Program of Psychology, on April 15, 1995. Nine years later in 2004, Universitas Islam Indonesia established the Faculty of Socio-Cultural Sciences with the Undergaduate Program of Communication sciences. In 2006, the Faculty of Psychology established the Master Program of Professional Psychology. Due to the university reorganization in 2006, Universitas Islam Indonesia merged the two faculties and adding the Associate Program of English Language Education. The new faculty was officially named the Faculty of Psychology and Socio-Cultural Sciences (FPSCS). This decision was stated in the Official Regulations of the Board of Management of Universitas Islam Indonesia Waqf Foundation Number 03 of 2006 on the Structure and Organization of Universitas Islam Indonesia.

Another change occurred when the Associate Program of English Language Education obtained an operational permit, namely the Ministry of Education and Culture Decree Number 11/E/0/2013 on the Permit for the Establishment of the Undergraduate Program of Language Education. The proposal for the establishment of the Undergraduate Program of English Language Education itself had actually been submitted to the Directorate General of Higher Education since January 4, 2011. With the issuance of the permit, the university leaders closed the Associate Program of English Language Education at the end of the 2014/2015 Academic Year.

Early in 2014, the Undergraduate Program of International Relations was established. The Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 19/E/0/2014 dated April 29, 2014 on the Permit for the Establishment of the Undergraduate Program  of International Relations became the starting point for the International Relations Department to be fully operational in the 2014/2015 academic year.

Furthermore, in the 2018/2019 academic year, FPSCS UII opened an International Program for two undergraduate programs, namely the Communication Sciences and the International Relations.
